LIMIT THE SLIDING SPEED
It may be the case that a gravity roller conveyor has to carry very different unit loads in terms of weight and characteristics of the sliding surface. In such cases, the slope of a gravity roller conveyor must be such as to allow the advancement of even the lightest unit loads or those with a higher coefficient of friction.To prevent the unit loads in motion from reaching speeds that are too high, it is necessary to use speed controllers or braking rollers, mounted with an interaxle spacing equal to the length of the unit load. It is thus possible to keep the speed of the unit loads constant and below 0.35 metres per second
